It's What My Character Would Do: The TTRPG (Alpha)
A downloadable game
Welcome! If you arrived due to the Kickstarter campaign, this is it! HOWEVER, this is a copy that still even has typos (darned Canva). The only reason I'm not fixing it is this will be extensively redesigned for the Print/Zine publication.
This is a silly game written for a silly game jam about a shitpost that has inspired me or about shitposting in general. I immediately knew it would have to be “It’s What My Character Would Do.” because, damn, yes, people should do what their characters would do, but if you don’t understand that you are in the middle of a cooperative storytelling game with others, maybe you should be playing…this game. In this game, players create characters that would, most assuredly, piss off the other players and the GM in any other game. The GM gets to be awful as well!
Please note the extensive devlog - this game is staying published so people can provide any feedback they might have, or to just get the idea out there that this is not only a fun game, but also has some interesting statements to make about the relationships between players, between characters, and the Meta kinds of characteristics to all TTRPGs. As soon as possible I will be working on textual and mechanics updates to the game.

I really want to run old one shots with this, something like Journey to the Rock. It's like a Paranoia add on.
I think it would be fun to remove the mechanics and put the personal goals and the GM trait into a regular ole D&D one shot session. If my players could do that without getting completely silly.
I feel you have to aim to silly with this. Which can be fun.
The player guide doubles as a character story generator for your next favorite YA novella
LOL! While unintentional, you're absolutely right :)
A lovely jar to put people into and shake. I know that we are supposed to discuss social issues by verbally addressing them outside of the game event, but this is truly a thing of beauty to walk people through the thought experiment of why pvp is an anti-social exercise.
Thank you! It was made as a joke and turned real. I hope to play with friends next weekend to see just how awful we get to be (in game).
Woo hoo, cool little game
thank you! If you end up playing, tell me what needs fixed. I know there will be balance and mechanics issues since it’s not play tested, but if enough people are into it, I’ll fix it in time for GenCon!
